Privacy policy
La Route Buissonnière app · Last updated: 2 July 2026
La Route Buissonnière is a navigation app that suggests enjoyable routes rather than the fastest ones. We take your privacy seriously. This page explains, in plain terms, what data the app uses and why.
In short: the app works without an account, creates no advertising profile and never sells your data. Your position is used only to calculate and follow your route. The app uses no live traffic data.
1. Data controller
The app is published by Audrey Morin (Base Lunaire), a micro-enterprise registered in France. Contact: bonjour@laroutebuissonniere.com
2. The data used
- Your GPS position — only when you allow it, to place you on the map, calculate a route from where you are and guide you while navigating.
- The addresses and places you search for — to offer suggestions and calculate your routes.
- Your preferences (route settings, cities to avoid, and so on) — stored locally on your device, never on a server.
- Your purchases (Pro subscription) — handled by Google Play, see §4.
- Trip data (optional, with your consent) — during the testing phase, and only if you agree, the app may send us technical data about your trips (GPS signal quality, smoothness, recalculations, calculation times, battery and memory, search statistics without the text entered, route points, phone model) in order to fix bugs and improve the app. No personal data (no name, no email, no account). You can refuse at any time from the app; the first and last 200 metres of each trip are removed before sending (so your start and destination cannot be identified); this data is neither shared nor sold, is kept for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted automatically, and is hosted on our server in France.
The app asks for no other data: no name, no email address, no contacts, no advertising identifier.
3. Why this data, and for how long
Your position and your searches are passed to our technical services for as long as it takes to calculate and display your route, and are then not kept for commercial purposes nor linked to your identity. Temporary technical logs may exist for the proper functioning and security of the servers; they are kept for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted automatically, and contain no complete GPS coordinates.
4. Third-party services
To work, the app relies on external services, which may receive your IP address and the requests needed:
- OpenFreeMap — displaying the base map (OpenStreetMap data).
- Base Adresse Nationale (data.gouv.fr) and Photon — searching for addresses and places.
- Our routing server (Valhalla engine, hosted in France) — calculating routes.
- OpenStreetMap (Overpass) — points of interest along the route (villages, viewpoints, rest areas…).
- Google Play / Google Play Billing — managing subscriptions and purchases. See Google’s privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) — searching for places and the address of a point.
- Open-Meteo — weather along your route.
- ipapi.co — approximate location by IP address, only as a fallback if GPS is unavailable.
- Stripe — payment for "Founding Member" access (on the website). See Stripe’s policy.
- Brevo — sending the waiting-list and testing-programme emails, if you sign up with your email address on the website.
5. No advertising, no reselling
The app displays no advertising, uses no advertising trackers and neither sells nor rents your data to third parties.
6. Cookies and local storage
The app stores your settings locally on your device. You can clear them at any time by clearing the app's or the browser's data.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection regarding your data. As the app creates no account, most of this data stays on your device (you can erase it by uninstalling the app). For any request: bonjour@laroutebuissonniere.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
8. App permissions
- Location — to place you on the map and guide you. You can refuse it or switch it off at any time in your phone's settings (the app can still be used to plan a trip).
9. Children
The app is not intended for children and does not knowingly collect data concerning them.
10. Changes
This policy may change. If anything significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
