📍 Navigation & GPS

🔋 The GPS cuts out or freezes while navigating ›

This is by far the number one problem, and it isn’t the app’s doing: some phones (especially Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, Oppo, Realme, Vivo) shut down apps in the background to save battery. Mid-drive, they put the GPS to sleep and the position freezes.

The fix, to be done once only: allowing La Route Buissonnière to stay active (with no battery restriction). Here is the path for your make of phone. The exact wording varies a little from phone to phone, but always look for the words No restrictions ou Don't optimise.

🟠 Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO

  1. Settings → Apps → La Route Buissonnière
  2. Battery saver → choose No restrictions
  3. Go back, then Auto-start → l'activer

🔴 OnePlus / Oppo / Realme

  1. Settings → Battery → Battery optimisation
  2. La Route Buissonnière → Don't optimise
  3. Then Apps → the app → Battery → allow background activity

🟢 Huawei / Honor

  1. Settings → Battery → App launch
  2. La Route Buissonnière → turn off Manage automatically
  3. Turn on Auto-start, Secondary launch et Run in background

🔵 Samsung

  1. Settings → Battery → Background usage limits
  2. Check the app is not in "Sleeping apps"
  3. Or Apps → the app → Battery → No restrictions

🟣 Vivo / iQOO

  1. Settings → Battery → Background power usage
  2. La Route Buissonnière → allow
  3. Then Auto-start (Autostart) → l'activer

⚪ Stock Android (Pixel, Motorola…)

  1. Settings → Apps → La Route Buissonnière
  2. Battery → No restrictions
  3. Usually nothing else to do 🙂
Worth knowing : the app offers you this permission itself the first time you start navigating. If you declined it, or if the problem comes back, repeat the steps above: it sticks, and you only have to do it once.
🧭 My position is wrong, offset or jumping ›

At the very start, the phone takes a few seconds to capter précisément les satellites : the position may be approximate, then settles. To help it along:

  • Wait a few seconds under open sky before setting off (avoid starting under a roof, in a tunnel or in a covered car park).
  • Vérifiez que la localisation is switched on and set to haute précision (Settings → Localisation).
  • If the position stays stuck a long way from you, switch location off and on again, or restart the app.

Once the signal is stable, the position snaps back onto the road automatically.

🔍 The app can't find a place or a shop ›

Places come from open mapping cartographiques ouvertes (OpenStreetMap). Un commerce very new, or was never added, may therefore be missing. A few tips:

  • Cherchez plutôt par catégorie ("bakery", "supermarket") rather than by brand name.
  • Add the town (“Intermarché Riom”) to narrow it down.
  • Results are ordered from the closest to your starting point au plus loin.

📶 Route calculation isn't working ›

Route calculation and place search need an internet connection at the moment you set off (it is our own engine that draws the loveliest road for you). Une fois the drive has started, guidance carries on even if the signal weakens along the way.

To drive through poorly covered areas, remember to download the offline maps before you leave (the « Cartes hors-ligne » button in the app).
